Room 9 Road safety with Constable Cam

Last week Room 9 has been learning all about road safety with Constable Cam. He has been teaching us all about keeping safe around roads and how to cross the road by ourselves - but we aren't allowed to do that until we are old enough - but we can practice with our Mum or Dad or someone older than us.
First, we shared ideas about how we come to school. We realised how many of us come in cars when we could actually walk! Walking to school is good because
……
We also practiced crossing the road with Constable Cam.

It was fun sitting in the police car and practicing to wear our seat belts. We got to make it CLICK!!
'Click goes the seat belt before we hit the road.'

We used these ideas in our Written Language.

On Monday, Constable Cam to our class to talk to us about wearing seat belts in car. He told us stories about car safety and wearing seat belts can help us to be safe in the car. He then took us outside in his police car. We sat in his car to practise wearing a seat belt. I also got to wear his police cap. I felt like a police man when i wore his police cap. "CLICK! goes the seat belt before we hit the road."

This morning I hopped in the police car and showed Constable Cam, I can put on my seat belt when I am in a car. When I sat in the car.  I made the seat belt click. "I am safe in the car now."
